Simple Everyday Beauty Routine: How To keep Your Skin Moisturized From The Sun
No matter how long you plan on being outside, you should always wear a product of at least SPF 15. Even if the weather is cloudy or rainy, don’t assume you’re safe from the harmful rays – they are still there! Over time, even minimal exposure can lead to fine lines, wrinkles, and sun spots.
For incorporating sun protection into your everyday beauty routine, I recommend using a tinted moisturizer. I prefer the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – Oil Free. It’s blendable, great for sensitive skin, and it has minimal coverage for a more natural look.
To further protect your face from sun exposure, you can also use a setting spray that contains SPF. This also helps to lock in your foundation and keep your makeup refreshed throughout the day. My favorite is Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50.
When considering which form of sun exposure protection is right for you, it is especially important to read the labels. For all-over sun protection, look for a sunscreen that is water and sweat resistant. Make sure the product protects against both UVA rays – which reach the deepest layer of your skin, as well UVB rays – which reach the outermost layer of your skin and causes sunburns.
Also keep in mind your own specific skincare needs and concerns. If you have sensitive skin for example, you might want to opt for a sunscreen with all-natural ingredients – or even a baby sunscreen that contains less harsh ingredients.
I have found that sunscreen sticks are perfectly ideal for on-the-go use and even coverage. No matter what your skin care needs may be, there is a product out there for you. Taking the time to research and invest in these products is essential – and totally worth it.
