Easy, Instagrammable DIY Labor Day Desserts

Labor Day is right around the corner!  Your outfit is planned, your party plans are finalized and your food is ready for your cookout! The problem is, you’re still missing one thing. Desserts of course! These tasty treats from Pinterest are a perfect prop for pictures and will be a hit at your BBQ.

Flower Pretzel Bites

This adorable bite-sized snack is the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Its quick and easy preparation will allow you to have more than enough time to perfect your eyeliner before heading out (via .)

What you will need

–  Pretezels

          –  Red White and Blue M&Ms, Holiday Edition

–  Wilton Bright White Candy Melts

How to prepare

  1. Place about 6-8 pretzels on a microwavable plate
  2. Lay a Wilton Candy Melt on top of each pretzel
  3. Microwave for 45-50 seconds
  4. Press a red or white M&M in the center of each Candy Melt
  5. Surround the center M&M with 6 more M&Ms, being a different color from the center

Caramel Pretzel Bites

Continuing with the sweet and salty theme, here is another chocolate and pretzel combination but with a creamy caramel twist (via .)

What you will need

– Pretzels

-Red White and Blue M&Ms, Holiday Edition

-Hershey Kisses

-Caramel square candy

-Rollos (A substitute for Hershey Kisses and Caramel square candy)

How To Prepare    

  1. Cut the Caramel squares in half
  2. Roll the two caramel pieces into separate balls
  3. Cut off the tip of each Hershey Kiss
  4. Take one caramel ball and press it onto a pretzel, flattening it
  5. Microwave the Hershey Kisses for 45-50 seconds with the cut off side up.
  6. Take the Hershey Kisses out and press an M&M on the top of each one.
  7. Place the Hershey Kisses with the M&Ms on top into the freezer for 3-5 minutes.
  8. Use a knife to transfer each Hershey Kiss circle onto a caramel layered pretzel
  9. Press down onto the caramel base, creating an adhesive between the pretzel and the

Patriotic Sugar Wafers

This light, sugary snack will provide a fun and colorful plate to any Labor Day celebration. These quick and easy steps make it the perfect treat for who are extremely new to cooking like myself (via .)

What you will need

–  1 package each of red, white and blue colored chocolate candy melt

–  1 package of vanilla sugar wafers  

– Red, white and blue sprinkles

How to prepare

  1. Melt half of each package according to the box’s instructions
  2. Lay out a piece of wax paper on the counter
  3. Dip each wafer into the melted chocolate and place it onto the paper
  4. Quickly add the sprinkles onto the the wafers
  5. Wait for a few minutes for the chocolate to dry
  6. Enjoy!
